"Holding a little water?"

Sometimes you may appear to be carrying more body fat than you think.  It is both water and fat that can be what separates you from seeing your muscle definition.  One gallon weighs 8lbs.  So, if you are carrying some excess pounds it could be you are holding more water than you need to.

Try the follow tips to get rid of the unwanted water that takes away some of your definition.

Natural Diuretics

Vinegar

Lemon Juice

Cucumbers

Asparagus

Vitamin B-6

Increase Water Intake

No added salt

Supplement with Taraxatone

All of the above can help you get rid of the unwanted water.  The following are some tips on how to implement them:

Vinegar- Try adding oil and vinegar to your salad next time instead of the other stuff.  If you are bold try adding a couple of tablespoons to a gallon of water along with some lemon juice (about 3-5 oz.).  This will help to pull the water off

Lemon Juice – Try the above tip or just do the lemon juice alone. Often you can marinate some fishes in lemon juice for flavour

Cucumbers – I prefer the English cucumbers.  You can eat them with the skin on or off.  I prefer to take the skin off.  Then, add them to your salads or for a snack chop them up and soak them in vinegar.  For a little more flavor add black pepper

Asparagus – Lightly steam the asparagus for a side dish or toss them in with your salad.  You could also stir-fry them with other vegetables with soy or tamari sauce.

Vitamin B-6 – B-6 has been known to be a natural diuretic.  I was once told by a respected bodybuilder that the combination of vitamin B-6, vinegar and lemon juice make a powerful natural diuretic

Increase Water Intake – Increasing your water intake actually helps your body to not hold on to excess water.  A general rule of thumb is .66oz times your bodyweight.  This would be the number of ounces for you to drink (on average).

No added salt – Salt is in just about everything, from eggs to protein powder.  You don’t really need to worry much about incidental sodium, but, you really don’t need to add sodium.  Try eating foods as close to their natural state as possible.  Things pre-packaged often have more sodium in them.  (Example: fresh tuna vs. canned tuna) READ THE LABLES!

Supplement with Taraxatone – Taraxatone is a good supplement to use if you are preparing for a photo shoot or a specific few days where you are really trying to get the excess water off.  It is probably not a good idea to take this all the time.  One bottle will last you ten days.
