"Fiber"

Like many people who are focused on building muscle (toning up) and/or losing body fat look in the mirror to assess progress.  But what about your plumbing that you can’t see?  Your pipeline.  You can’t see it and you can’t feel it but it is there.  The muscle (tone) that you are after comes from packing your pipeline.  What happens to all that stuff and your stomach before it gets to the pipeline?

Building muscle (tone) and losing body fat is not just about eating.  If you eat you must defecate, but most people don’t want to admit that they have bowel movements (let alone bowel problems).  To take full potential of your progress you must take full advantage of your gastrointestinal (GI) tract.  Getting into the habit of eating a high fiber diet is an essential part of your muscle building (toning)/fat loss program.  Fiber is critical for optimal nutrient processing and GI health.

Fiber also has direct and important metabolic implications for you also.  It also helps to stabilize blood glucose levels, controls insulin release, promotes increased fat utilization and helps to moderate estrogen and its undesired effects, including excess fluid.

If your digestive system is not running properly then your nutritional program could be doing you more harm than good.  At the very least you probably are not receiving the results from your program that you could be.

Whether you are consuming a high calorie diet or a low calorie diet you are expecting a lot from your digestive system.  You system is either going to work with you or against you.  There is not much room for error.  You certainly cannot expect your system to digest all of the nutrients necessary to support you goals and not be in top shape.
